Location / Whats nearby / local attractions?

El Granado Hostel is surrounded by history and all the main sights as well as the majority of Granadas many tapas bars and museums are within walking distance. It is situated next to Botanical Garden and the Department of Law and Justice that was founded by Charles de V in 1526 together with the Imperial School of the Holy Cross of Faith to reform the mores by making them study the evangelic doctrines. On the other side you find the Monastery and Church of San Jerónimo, where the “Gran Capitan” is buried. The Monastery was founded by the Catholic Kings the same year as the conquest of Granada, 1492. A 5 minute walk through the historical center of Granada brings you to the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel of the Catholic kings. From the Cathedral you can catch a bus up to the Alhambra, the last stronghold of the western caliphate situated on a hill overlooking Granada.

Directions

The reception is open from 9:00 h to 24:00 h. If you come outside this timeslot, please put yourself in contact with us for a special arrangement.

By Car:

We advise travelers coming by car to enter Granada on highway exit 128 “Mendez Nuñez”, and drive towards the city centre, passing “Plaza Albert Einstein.” After Hotel Granada Center on your right hand side the road makes a Y.

Turn right into “Rector Lopez Argüeta” street until it ends and then turn right on “Gran Capitán” street. 200 meters down this road after passing the Monastery of San Jerónimo you will find the “Gran Capitán” underground public parking.

When you've parked the car walk straight out on to "Misericordia" street and take the second street to the left, "Conde de Tendillas” street.

By Bus:

From the main bus station you need to take city bus number 3 or 33 and get of at bus stop “Jardines del Triunfo” (when the bus passes a roundabout with a big spanish flag in the center, get off). After getting of the bus, backtrack a little and walk down on “San Juan de Dios” street until you see Monastery of “San Jerónimo” on your right hand side. Turn left on to “Duquesa” street. Second street to the right is “Conde de Tendillas” street and El Granado.

By Train:

Take city bus number 5 to the centre and get of at bus stop “Gran Capitan (Ambulatorio)”. Walk into “Duquesa” street and the second street to the right is “Conde de Tendillas” and El Granado.
Important: while there is construction of the Granada Metro, it is better to walk from the train station to us. Bus 5 is taking a different route.

By Plane:

Take the airport bus to the centre and get of at the bus stop “Jardines del Triunfo” (when the bus passes a roundabout with a big spanish flag in the center, get off), and follow the instructions above, how to get here by bus.

Taxis: (Taxi fees are estimated since the traffic may vary. The taxi meter is reliable)

From the bus station 8-9 €
From the train station 5-6 €
From the airport 25-30 €

So clean and everything is brand new..only drawback is the 3 person bunk beds - I woke up one night and smacked my head on the bunk above because it was so low..Owner was also very helpful - I was sick and he wrote out my symptoms in Spanish so I could go to the doctor. Great place for a relaxing break from crazy, party hostels.
