Directions

We are situated in the Old Town, ‘Barrio de Santa Cruz’, in the famous ‘Menéndez Pelayo Avenue’ n.13. How to get to our Hostel:

FROM SANTA JUSTA TRAIN STATION: it’s about a 20 minute walk. Once you’re out the station, go right, along Avenida Jose Laguillo, until the end of the street. Take a left onto Calle de Maria Auxiliadora, which shortly becomes Calle Recaredo, and then Avenida Menendez Pelayo. You’ll find us on the right hand side at number 13. Look for the huge glass door! A taxi will cost around €5 or €6, depending on the time of day and the amount of luggage.

From The Airport take the bus EA to the centre. Get off at the last stop (Avenida Carlos V). Our hostel is less than a 10 minute walk. As you get off the bus head left towards the large roundabout. Going straight through the roundabout brings you on to our street, Avenida Menendez Pelayo. We are on the left hand side of the street at number 13 (ignore the even numbers on the right hand side of the street, the odd numbers on the other side start much further along). We’re a couple of blocks past the end of the gardens. Look for the big glass door! The bus will take 25-30 minutes to town and it costs €2.30

FROM SAN SEBASTIAN BUS STATION: the hostel is less than a 10 minute walk from the Prado San Sebastián bus station. Go straight out of the station along a short street where lots of cars are parked and you’ll reach Avenida Menendez Pelayo. Go right and you’ll find us on the other side of the street at number 13 (ignore the even numbers on the right hand side of the street, the odd numbers on the other side start much further along). We’re a couple of blocks past the end of the gardens. Look for the big glass door!

FROM PLAZA DE ARMAS BUS STATION. From just outside the Plaza de Armas bus station (down the steps and to the right) take bus C4 and get off at the ‘Puerta de la Carne’ stop on Avenida Menéndez Pelayo. You’ll find us at number 13, almost opposite the bus stop. Look for the big glass door! The bus costs €1.30. A taxi costs around €5 - €7, depending on the time of day and the amount of luggage you have.

The location was good. Tapas/restaurant recommendations from the hostel were so-so. We ended up finding our own little gems a little more out of the city in San Vincente area. There is a mirror in the room - but it's behind the wardrobe which isn't much use! Power points are at the same level as the bunk beds so may be difficult to find and not overly accessible. The highlight was the roof top terrace. The free walking tour is good to get your barrings of the city. We had Ronni doing our tour - nice girl but she can't do a good Irish accent like she said - it was more like a foreign person's attempt of a Northern Irish accent - sorry Ronni!
