Eat & Dink
Sevilla has a special flavor. The most popular and top here of course, Tapas. A charming and wise sample the cuisine of Seville is in its popular and unique tapas.
Sevilla people "go de tapas", the translation for the spanish words "ir de tapas". Ir de tapas is another way to eat, a bar to another, having that small size dishes, which allows trying many different flavors.
But there's also in Sevilla another form of regional cuisine of very good quality. The most famous is the gazpacho (whatever they say, in summer there is nothing better) and fried fish. Recipes are generally simple and flavors are natural.
And what about drinking? Manzanilla and sherry, of course.
As other cities, Seville also has excellent markets where backpackers in Spain visiting the city can buy great quality produces at very cheap prices. You'll find the three most important Sevilla markets at the Plaza de la Encarnacion, at the Macarena area (Calle Feria) and the thrid one in Triana.
What is absolutely true is that Sevilla is one of the cities in Spain where you can eat and drink at a reasonable price. Whrere to go? You'll find plenty of tourist tapas bars everywhere. We'd recommend you to avoid the ones next to the Cathedral and La Giralda. The're not probably the best of the city, often serving geasy food at expensive prices. The best option is the Triana quarter, the Calle Betis and the close streets, around the church of Santa Ana and towards Plaza de Cuba.
Anyway, our best suggestion is that you take a look and see what the locals are eating and drinking .. ask the waiter to serve you the same dishes, you can't go wrong!
