Things to do

Take a look at our suggestions, made by people who know Valencia ... and enjoy your stay!

1. The City of Arts and Sciences

Magnificent architectural work of Santiago Calatrava, which houses four different spaces in four buildings along about a 2 km axis space: the Palau de les Arts, the Hemisfèric, the Museum of Science and The Oceanographic. You will know different aspects of science, technology, nature and art.

2. Go to the market!

The Central Market in Valencia is located in a square where you will find two other buildings particularly interesting too: the Lonja de la Seda, one of the finest examples of the Gothic architecture style built in Europe and the baroque style Church of Santos Juanes.

3. The Puerta of Torres Serrano

The great reference for the city of Valencia and one of its the best preserved monuments. It is one of the twelve gates guarding the old city walls of Valencia and the largest European Gothic gateway.

4. The Cathedral

Magnificent building whose construction began in 1262. His current appearance is the result of stylistic overlap, as many other religious buildings. You can climb to its tower over the Plaza de la Reina, - the Miguelete - you'll get wonderful views of the surrounding city.

5. La Marcha!

Valencia’s nightlife is, in all seriousness, one of the best in Europe. Chicly designed bars and clubs sit side by side with scruffy old locals serving up delicious tapas. Specific areas are too many to mention but on Calle Cavallers in the Barrio del Carmen, the pace is unrelenting.
