Valencia is probably for most people a city of clichés: the light, the moon, powder, paella, flowers, the fallas. This may be true, but you need to visit and know Valencia to realise how old traditions coexist with modernity.

For the last years, Valencia has renewed its style, it has become a city of design, modern and opened to the sea. A cool destination for many backpackers in Spain.

Coexisting with its old monuments, the city has today many new magnificent infrastructures as the city of Arts and Sciences and the Museo Principe Felipe.  Velencia's cultural offer includes other meums and galleries, such as the Museu de Belles Arts with work by El Greco and Goya among others, or the IVAM, one of the best museums of modern art in Spain.

There are many events that Valencia offers throughout the year. Music, painting, sculpture, theater, cinema ... Among the most important Valencia offers, the "Mostra de Valencia Cinema del Mediterrani", held between November and December, that has become a must for cinema industry professionals bringing the actors and actresses glamour to the city. The  Bienal of Valencia, one of the most important cultural events in the city, or the Feria de Julio, with open air performances and concerts held at the Paseo de la Alameda and the Jardines de Viveros. On the other hand, the Pasarela del Carme has established itself as a must among the leading fashion designers to show their work every year, between May and June.

Not forgetting the Valencian cuisine, based on natural products that give rise to the called Mediterranean diet, healthy cooking and easy processing. Thus, country and sea are probably the main recipies suppliers for the most notably Valencian dish: paella, seafood or mixed.

Definitely, Valencia, with its mediterranean climate, warm and sunny throughout the year, is a confortable and friendly city to discover.
